8 Seasons

Lapland is said to have eight distinct seasons. At this northern latitude, the undulating pull from darkness to light has the scenery change constantly. Of these eight seasons, five are blanketed in snow, covering the land for nearly two-thirds of the year. For those that live here, snow is an integral part of our daily life.

The Language of Snow

For the Sámi, the Indigenous people of Lapland, snow is deeply woven into their culture. Their language reflects this bond, with some three hundred words describing different types of snow.

We chose to name our Villas after one such word. Vahca, a Northern Sámi term for freshly fallen snow that settles during the still, freezing nights of midwinter. It reflects the magical beauty of Kaamos (midwinter) and coincides with the arrival of our first four Villas, welcoming guests for Christmas 2026.

Where?

Halfway between the Arctic Circle and the Arctic Ocean sits Muonio, the home of the spectacular fell region of Pallastunturi. Here you will find the breath taking nature of Lapland you have been dreaming about. Here you will find Vahca Villas.
